David completed his Bachelor degree in Dentistry from the University of Queensland in 1994. He then practiced as a dentist in both public and private practices in Bundaberg, Queensland and Adelaide, South Australia before embarking on his specialist degree.
David attained his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics in 2004 from the University of Adelaide and practiced Endodontics in Adelaide for a brief period before moving to Newcastle in 2005 and starting a specialist practice. Since this time, David has been practicing as an Endodontist in Newcastle.
David is a member of the Australian Society of Endodontics and the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists. Away from the practice, David enjoys spending time with his family, heading down to the beach for a surf and a swim.
Dr Mark O’Sullivan completed his Bachelor degree in Dentistry (Honours) at the University of Queensland in 1998 and then went on to complete his specialist training at the same university, obtaining his Masters Degree in Endodontology in 2007. During this time Mark was also admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Restorative Dentistry as well as becoming a Member in the Endodontic division. He is the current Federal Secretary/Treasurer of the Australian Society of Endodontology and is also a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists.
Whilst Mark now practices exclusively in a referral based private practice, he previously served 15 years in the Royal Australian Air Force, transferring to the Reserves at the rank of Wing Commander. During his military career Mark held postings to several Eastern Australian bases in various positions including that of a Dental Officer, Senior Dental Officer and Command level Staff Officer. He also undertook an overseas tour on operations.
Mark was raised in New Zealand and graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2001. He worked for seven years as a general dentist in New Zealand, Australia and the Middle East in both private and public sector positions, including the New Zealand Army. During this time he completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. In 2009 he returned to Australia to complete his specialist training at the University of Adelaide, graduating with Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics in 2011. As part of this training Mark conducted research in the field of endodontic microbiology. Mark is currently a member of the Australian Society of Endodontology and the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists.
Mark and his young family moved to Newcastle in 2014 where they have decided to permanently settle. They enjoy making the most of all the wonderful outdoor living that Newcastle and Hunter region have to offer.
Sally completed her bachelor degree in dentistry from Griffith University in 2008 before commencing work as a Dental Officer in the Royal Australian Navy. Sally spent much time at sea and was posted to naval bases in WA, NSW and QLD for five years before undertaking Specialist Endodontic training. She obtained her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics in 2016 from the University of Melbourne.
Sally has been involved in, and thoroughly enjoys teaching dental students and overseas trained dentists. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Endodontology and the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists. Outside Endodontics, Sally enjoys travelling, hiking, netball and cooking.
Peter Case completed his BDSc from the University of Queensland in 2001, then a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics in 2009. Peter was a Lieutenant Commander in the Royal Australian Navy, serving as the Fleet Dental Surgeon. After spending much of his naval career at sea, Peter was the specialist endodontist for the Australian Defence Force. He provided endodontic treatment to military personnel from all areas of eastern Australia and is still currently one of the senior clinical mentors for the junior Dental Officers of the Australian Defence Force.
Whilst maintaining a full time Military commitment, Peter also worked part-time in the Park Street practice of Sydney Endodontists. Peter commenced full time with Sydney Endodontists on his discharge from the Navy in June 2014. In 2019 Peter and his family made the decision to leave Sydney and relocate to Newcastle where he joined Specialist Endodontics. Peter is a past president of the Australian Society of Endodontology (NSW). Peter is a past secretary of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists. He currently holds the position of New South Wales Councillor for the ANZAE.
Peter is particularly interested in the area of Endodontic Microsurgery, attending numerous overseas training courses to learn the latest techniques. He has also been a user of Cone Beam CT since its introduction into clinical endodontics. He has been heavily involved in training and educational courses in both periapical microsurgery and radiology. Peter has published research in the fields of root canal disinfection using Ozone gas and regenerative endodontic procedures in international peer reviewed scientific journals.
Maintaining knowledge in current endodontic research is paramount to Peter’s practice. As such he regularly attends continuing professional development seminars. Peter is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and regularly presents at both local and international endodontic conferences.
With a passion in healthcare, Dr CeCe Chan initially practiced as a dietitian at Nepean Hospital before transitioning into dentistry. Her academic journey took her to the University of Sydney, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2015. She practiced as a general dentist for over five years in various fields including the public sector at Westmead Centre of Oral Health and in private practices in Brisbane and Canberra before pursuing her specialist endodontic training at the University of Queensland.
CeCe’s thesis delved into innovations in nickel titanium technology in endodontics and is a recognised publication in a peer-reviewed journal. She is a Fellow in General Dental Practice and a Member in Specialist Dental Practice of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. She is also a current member of the Australian Society of Endodontology, Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists and American Association of Endodontists. Outside of the clinical practice, CeCe continues to provide lectures at the University of Queensland to dental students.
Having relocated to Newcastle with her partner, CeCe is eager to explore everything that Newcastle has to offer. Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds joy in travel and going skiing.
